Art Events
Visual art is explained through remarkable art events I attended in
the past. It is an archive of exhibitions, fairs, and events in Hong
Kong and outside of Hong Kong that deserves the appreciation of a
wider audience. Despite their glory, most art events have a short
life span. The average displaying period of an art exhibition is
three months. As fresh, hot, and new art events emerge, consumers
busily chase the latest trend and easily forget past events they went
to. Most of them regard art events as fleeting and superficial
entertainment, failing in building a lasting relationship with art.
As a solution to this problem, reviews in this category focus on
approaching and understanding art through events. By reading the
reviews, readers will accumulate knowledge on topics of art events,
understand in-depth analysis, cultivate their perspective on viewing
art, and see a broad picture of the relationship between art and
society.
Events reviewed in this blog are highly regarded in the
art world, as Hong Kong is a metropolis reputed for its leading art
market and visual culture. I'm fortunate that I have the geographical
advantage of being able to visit art events in person and have the
ability to explain them through writing. I earnestly hope the reviews
would encourage readers to continue fostering interest in art and
build a lasting relationship with art. For readers' convenience,
subcategories of the topic are classified according to periods of
artwork creation.
